Bridges
Bridges hold many meanings for us. They represent a short cut (but with a certain danger; as evolved apes, falling is still a primal fear). They represent boundaries and crossing over them. They signify one’s past and one’s future. Visually, they can be as awe-inspiring as the Golden Gate or as sweetly bucolic as a row of wooden planks spanning a country creek. Bridges for foot, train and vehicle traffic all have their distinctive separate characters. But they all share in silent witness the secret stories of personal crossings that ended in triumph or something less.

Quote by Lauren E. Simonutti
